When you host a site on a server, it works by using the server's shared IP - a special number that's used to distinguish any device connected to the World Wide Web. The domain name that you use for the website is for easy accessibility and convenience of the visitors, but on a lower level, their browser connects to the IP of the server. As there're far more sites than IP addresses, shared web hosting servers use a single IP for many different sites even in case they are owned by several users. While this doesn't affect the site performance directly, having a dedicated IP may slightly improve the loading speed of a given website, granting it superior positions in search engine results. Such an IP is needed for the setup of an SSL certificate as well, so when you plan to secure the payment or login information that your website visitors type in, you should have an IP together with the SSL.
Dedicated IP Address in Hosting
When you use any of our hosting
packages, you can add a dedicated IP address to your account in no time and assign it to any domain or subdomain with just a couple of clicks. This is valid no matter which data center you've chosen for your account during the sign-up process, so it's possible to use this feature in our US, UK and AU facilities. This way, you can have a dedicated IP for an electronic commerce site, for example, whereas a forum attached to it can use the server's shared IP as you can adjust each domain or subdomain separately through the Hosted Domains part of your Hepsia Control Panel. If you would like a dedicated IP for an SSL certificate and you obtain the SSL through our company, you will be able to use our auto-configuration tool, that will assign an IP and install the SSL automatically for the site where you'd like to use them.
Dedicated IP Address in Semi-dedicated Servers
With only a few clicks in your Hepsia Control Panel, you will be able to add one or several dedicated IP addresses to your semi-dedicated server
and assign them to your websites. The Hosted Domains part of Hepsia will help you view the available IPs and to check those which are in use with ease. Provided you wish to get a new IP for an SSL certificate, you'll be able to use the auto-configuration function, that's available in our SSL order wizard. When you activate this option, you will not need to do anything after you submit your order as our system will request a dedicated IP address, assign it to the domain or subdomain involved, and then add the SSL certificate - all of this automatically and without any action on your end. That way, you can secure the information that visitors post on your site even when you do not have any previous experience with this type of matters.
Dedicated IP Address in VPS Servers
If you acquire a VPS server
from us, you will have a dedicated IP address by default and an additional one if you obtain a hosting Control Panel (Hepsia, cPanel, DirectAdmin). You are able to use the IP addresses for any sort of purpose - a website, some web app such as a VOIP server, even for private name servers that you can use to point to your VPS any website that you plan to host. In addition, you can add extra dedicated IPs to your VPS account every time you need them. This can be done from the billing Control Panel that you will obtain in order to control renewals, upgrades and domain registrations and it will take just a couple of clicks. Shortly after you send your order, the extra IP addresses will be at your disposal, so you are able to use them as you see fit.
Dedicated IP Address in Dedicated Servers
Because you are able to run pretty much anything on a dedicated server
, all our packages feature 3 dedicated IP addresses included as standard. If you wish to launch some server software or to set up an SSL certificate for a website that you host on the machine, you will be able to use the IPs that we supply without charge. You may also register child name servers with one or two of the IP addresses for any domain name that you've registered through our company or elsewhere and then employ them to point other domains to the dedicated server. If you manage a hosting company, for example, this option will contribute to your credibility as a standalone provider. If you need more IPs than the three the plans include, you will be able to get additional ones in increments of 3 either during the signup process or from your billing Control Panel any time.
